How to use Spintax in Mailercloud?

Spintax is a syntax format that enables you to create multiple variations of a specific piece of text. In this help document, we will guide you on how to use spintax in MailerCloud.

Spintax Format:

Spintax is created using a set of brackets { } and separating various alternatives with a pipe character (|). The number of possible variations depends on the number of options provided within the brackets. The more options that are provided, the greater the number of potential variations.

Here is an example of an email that uses Spintax:

Hi {there|{{Name}}},

I'm reaching out because {I'm interested in your services|I have a question about your

product|I'd like your opinion on something}.Specifically, I was wondering

{what your experience has been with X|if you have any tips for achieving Y|if you could

tell me more about Z}.

If you have a few minutes, I would appreciate the chance to chat. Please let me know if

that's possible.

Thanks and have a great day!

{Regards! |Thanks!}

Additionally, here is an example of Spintax that can generate multiple variations of the text:

{Hello|Hi|Hey} {world|everyone|guys}

This Spintax example can generate multiple variations of the text, including:

  • Hello world

  • Hello everyone

  • Hello guys

  • Hi world

  • Hi everyone

  • Hi guys

  • Hey world

  • Hey everyone

  • Hey guys

How "RANDOM" Function works in Spintax?

The "RANDOM" function in Spintax lets you randomly select words or phrases from a set of choices. To use it, include the word "RANDOM" in brackets, followed by the choices you want to include, separated by the pipe character "|". For example, "{Hello|Hi} {RANDOM|world|friends|everyone}" might output "Hi friends", "Hello everyone", or "Hi world", with each option having an equal chance of being generated. The "RANDOM" function is a fun and easy way to add variety to your spintax content.

Limitations

  • Spintax Format: We do not support the "|" symbol within the spintax format. The "|" symbol is used to separate different text variations. Please ensure that the "|" symbol isnot used within the spintax structure, as it has a specific purpose in representing alternative options.

  • Usage in Campaigns: Spintax can only be used in Normal campaigns and is not currently supported in the Public API.

  • Manual Validation: We currently do not have an implemented validation system for the spintax format. It is essential to manually check whether the spintax format is correct before use.

  • Nested Spintax: Our platform does not support nested Spintax. It is essential to ensure that your Spintax is not nested, as it will not be recognized and processed correctly. Please avoid using nested Spintax structures.

Here's an example of nested spintax:

{{Great|Awesome|Fantastic} {job|work}|Keep it up|Well done}, {everyone|team}!
