How to connect Mailercloud to Microsoft Copilot Studio

Add the official Mailercloud MCP server as a tool in a Microsoft Copilot Studio agent, using API key or OAuth authentication.

You can give a Microsoft Copilot Studio agent access to Mailercloud by adding the official Mailercloud MCP server, https://mcp.mailercloud.com/mcp, as a Model Context Protocol tool. The agent can then report on campaigns, look up contacts and prepare emails in your Mailercloud account.

How do I add Mailercloud to a Copilot Studio agent?

  1. In Mailercloud, go to Settings > API Keys, create a key named "Copilot Studio" and copy it.

  2. In Copilot Studio, open your agent and go to Tools > Add a tool > New tool > Model Context Protocol.

  3. Enter the name Mailercloud, a description such as "Email marketing: campaigns, contacts, segments and reports in Mailercloud", and the server URL https://mcp.mailercloud.com/mcp.

  4. For authentication, choose API key and send your Mailercloud key in the Authorization header, or choose OAuth 2.0 with dynamic discovery.

  5. Select Create, create the connection, and add the tool to the agent.

  6. Test it in the agent's test pane: "Using Mailercloud, summarise my last three campaigns."

What should a business agent use Mailercloud for?

  • Weekly campaign reports for your marketing team.

  • Looking up a customer's subscription status and engagement for your support team.

  • Preparing draft campaigns for a person to review and send.

How do I keep it safe for my organisation?

  • The agent acts with the access of the API key you use. Use a dedicated key, and delete it in Mailercloud to stop access straight away.

  • Mailercloud shows a preview before anything that sends, schedules, deletes or blocks. Keep a person in the loop for those steps.

  • In Copilot Studio you can turn off individual Mailercloud tools you don't want the agent to use. Your organisation's data policies apply to the connection.
