What is domain authentication?

Domain authentication is the method of verifying that an email is actually sent from a sender who they are claiming to be. It has an immensely positive impact on the reputation of the sender and email deliverability by filtering out spam and fraud.

Email service providers cannot trust messages that don’t have the authentication set up, as they cannot be certain about the source of the message. Clearly stating the source, increases its reputation with the service provider and makes it less prone to filtration and stopping it from reaching the recipient’s inbox. Thus the recipients are explicitly aware of the sender and would not mark the email as spam.
